The cricket season in DPS began with the practice matches played between the staff and the students. In the beginning of the session inter house matches were organised in which after a tough competition Earth House was declared the winner. In the month of June our team played T-20 matches which were organised by HPCA. In this tournament many teams had participated and our team secured a position in semi-final . The mid-year proved to be glorious to our team as we won the Sahodaya Cup hosted by Chinmaya Vidyalaya.
In this tournament our team played first match against Alpine School Nalagarh. Our School Cricket team captain was chosen 'man of the match. The second match was played with Chinmaya School which our team won easily. The host team could only score 65 runs chasing the target of 165. In this tournament our cricket captain Sumit Bhatiya was chosen 'man of the series'. In the mid of the year we played a match with 'Doon Valley Public School' in which the visiting team could score 68 runs which was not a hard nut to crack for us. In this match Suhel Kainithla became the highest wicket taker.
In the month of October our team played in 'State Cricket Tournament'. In this tournament teams from all over the Himachal participated. We defeated the teams of Kinnaur and Shimla and secured a position in semi-final. Our sports captain was in his best form and he made a hattrik. Having seen the excellent performance of our cricketers we expect to witness splendid cricket in the coming years. We are hopeful to produce players of national and international level in the coming years.
