Our house consists of 90 students who proved their aptitude in the various assorted activities held inside and outside the school. We stood first in the inter-house Rangoli Making competition. We also bagged the first place in inter-house Fruit-Salad making competition, Junior Hindi Debate, Senior Extempore, Poem Recitation, etc. We remained at the top place in the Science as well as G.K. quiz held in the school. Prashant Kandoi & Komal were declared the best speakers in Senior English & Junior Hindi correspondingly. Hard work, self belief & confidence has made us a real winner. The spirit of enthusiasm of the house grew even more when we stood first in the Rakhi Making & proved to be challenging in Hindi Calligraphy competition.
From the academic desk we bagged the overall scholastic crown for the year 2009. Apart from this, Surbhi Sardana the gleaming star of our house managed to score 93.8% in the class X board Examination & became the topper of the first ceremonial batch of our school. From the sports side we were runners up in the Jr. boys and girls inter-house basketball and winners in the senior girls matches. In cricket too our players got the second position in Jr. boys category. In lawn tennis & table tennis too our players proved their mettle.
The promising National Level T.T. players like Abhay, Sakshi & Amita are amongst the Martians. Moreover Khushboo Kandoi got the title of 'Best Athlete -2009' at the athletics meet with a total of 6 medals. We look forward for the same expectations. It is rightly said that to be a great champion you must believe that you are the best.
The value and sense of duty inculcated in childhood turn out to be the supreme strength of adulthood. With the motto of 'work and win" we Martians are everyday facing competition. We bagged the co-curricular activities trophy and academic trophy and are trying our best to replicate our history this year too, so as to win the prevalent title of 'cock house' this year.
MARS HOUSE SHOW REPORT
"Start by doing what's necessary, then what's possible & suddenly you are doing the impossible."
12th August was marked as an integral day in the 2009-10 session of the Martians, as on this day we celebrated the 'Mars House Show' The show started at 10.00 a.m. on 13th August 2009, with the blessings of "Durga Maa". The auditorium was full of audience. The ceremonial lamp was lighted by the chief guest to start the show.
The show began with a Divine Dance - the Ganpati Vandana, which presented before us, our religious feelings. The house show further consisted of presentations like the semi-western dance, English Play, Hindi Play, Group Song-Prarthana. The special highlights of the show were the freestyle dance and the parade of Indian classics which consisted of Bhangra, Nati & Rajasthani Folk Dance alongwith the patriotic dance. The Punjabi skit further created a humourous atmosphere amongst the audience. The show was itself an exhibit of the creativity & hard work of the Mars House. Through this we proved our aptitude in this field of creativity also. On the basis of house show we were given a deferential position in the campus. |
